When you think of the French girl makeup look the first thing that comes to mind is effortless beauty. French women use makeup to enhance their natural beauty rather than to transform their features. It is a classy, minimalistic approach to makeup and life in general. This explains why you will hardly see a woman in the streets of Paris wearing a full face of makeup.
I like to wear makeup but I don’t want to spend lots of time putting it on! Yes, I am lazy yet I still want to look nice and feminine while being so. Hence, I came up with this Parisian makeup routine that is quick and glamorous.
Pre-makeup tips
Before I get into my makeup look, I want to make an important point that having a balanced diet and a good skincare routine is essential for a simple makeup routine.
The skin is the largest organ of the body, whatever you put inside your body will manifest on the outside. So, drink lots of water and eat nutritious food which will lead to great overall health.
Another tip is to try a facial treatment. I never used to get facials I thought they were pointless and a waste of money. I was so wrong! Now I love getting facials! They make my face glow and feel moisturised and so soft.
My French Girl Makeup Routine
These are my steps to a quick glam French makeup look.
- First, I apply an SPF moisturiser all over my face and neck.
- Then I dab concealer under my eyes and on any spots that I want to cover and blend using my fingers or a blending brush.
- I then highlight my inner eye corners and my brow bone under the arch of my eyebrow with cream-colored eye shadow.
- Next, I use a bronze eyeshadow on my eyelid blending it upward towards the highlighter brow bone area.
- After, I like to use black eyeliner to draw a medium-sized line on my upper lids only as shown below.
- Then I apply 2 coats of L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Mascara.
- Lastly, I apply a lip balm before using a matte bright red lipstick. I switch between a lip paint and a moisturising lipstick.
Et voilà that is my simple glam routine inspired by the women of Paris. This look can be worn in the daytime but I prefer it for evenings. This is beautiful, chic makeup look that will compliment your features. Couple this with all the inner work you have been doing and it will help you to step into your divine femininity.
